Here's the good news ... An anonymous donor, who recognizes that it is only through collective action -- giving, volunteering and advocating -- has provided GEFP with an opportunity for your gift to be matched dollar-for-dollar. This match will apply to the first $12,000 in new as well as increased or renewed gifts from returning donors. We need your help!
As we approach mid-year, many of us are thinking of summer activities and family vacations. However, so many families continue to struggle with low paying jobs, illness, unexpected household expenses and other economic challenges, and thus, face the prospect of summer with the need to provide even more food for their children. School meal programs do not continue in the summer months and this can cause great strain on a families' grocery budget.
You've responded with great generosity over the years when the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry began inviting you to assist hungry friends and neighbors across six communities; this original group of towns has recently grown to include Addison and Bloomingdale. You are so critically important to our ability to answer to an ever increasing demand to those experiencing food insecurity in local neighborhoods. You are a part of an extraordinary group of local businesses, foundations, community groups and individuals who join together each and every day to make this journey possible.
Please take a moment before the demands of summer scheduling divert our attention to think about how you can partner with us to MAKE HUNGER HISTORY in our community.
