The reality is that there are still families in our community that go hungry. The number of households who cannot make ends meet is not decreasing. As you consider your end of year giving, please know how your generous tax-deductible gift can make a direct and positive difference in the lives of local families who are experiencing financial hardship. We are grateful for the commitment of our over 350 volunteers all working together to "Make Hunger History".

The Food Pantry plays a very important role in our community, assisting low income residents and those in crisis with healthy and nutritious food. This is the major fundraising campaign for the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry that allow us to operate throughout the year. The funds go to purchase food and personal care items, including fresh milk, eggs, and yogurt, through the Northern Illinois Food Bank at a greatly reduced cost which allows us to make the most of every dollar we receive. Along with providing an operating budget for a location and a small staff.

We are committed to making sure every donation is utilized to benefit our clients. However, no matter how hard we work to expand our food sources, our shelves are still emptied each and every week.
